The search box below, and at the top of this, and every page is an extremely useful and deep tool. Like all good tools there are certain ways to use it which will render positive results.
Here are some tips on how to use it effectively:
- Enter the keywords you know best to describe your item
- Use alternative keywords
- Use period and style keywords as well
- Get keywords from items that I’ve written about which are like the item you have
- Try quote specific searches and non-quote searches
- Familiarize yourself if you’re not already familiar with basic Google search practices.
- Know that the links on top, and on the right side are NOT articles on my site, but sponsored links which is the trade-off going to Google for letting me use this wonderful custom search box. Although those are not my links, they too, can be very useful. Just don’t stray too far, and be sure to come back :)
- Bookmark this page for future reference. I am entering about 7-10 articles per week now, so if you didn’t find what you’re looking for today, it may be there tomorrow.
- Tell a friend about this site. OK, that isn’t really a search tip, but it helps me out a lot, and I would really appreciate it. So will your friend. It could save them the price of an appraisal at the least, at the most it may help them from making a costly mistake with thier antique sale or purchase.
Thank You, the box below is active, as is the one at the top of every page on this site.
I will be extremely grateful to anyone who helps me help others with this search box. If you link to this page, give it a Stumble, a Tweet, a Facebook Like, or bring attention to it in any other way, please let me know and I’ll do my best to return the favor.
I also welcome your tips and feedback on how to use it.
Thanks much,
Walt
