What's it worth? Appraisal of Napoleonic locket

Email Article Jennifer asks: Hello, I have this locket. I have attached a few photos. Could you please let me know what it is and what it might be worth if anything. My Grandmother gave it to me about 20 years ago and i’m not sure how long she had it. Thanks so much.


AW says: This is a late 19th to early 20th century locket. It commemorates a period during which the Crimean War was taking place. The bas-relief on the face makes it an interesting item and the loop which would attatch this to a chain, is made well, indicating a better than average quality costume jewelry item.
The brush back, tells us that this is not made of sterling, gold or any other precious metal.The name on the back is most likely the manufacturer’s name.
