What's it worth? Appraisal of crystal chandelier

Email Article Claire asks:
Hi,
We bought our house almost 2 years ago. This chandelier came with it. The house is about 100 years old. I wanted to find out if this chandelier is an antique and also how much it would be worth.
It is entirely made out of glass, including the arms. I have no idea how old it is and I couldn’t find any markings on it to indicate the manufacturer.
I was hoping a picture would be worth a thousand words here because I don’t know what else I can tell you to help you. I have attached 4 photos and they are quite large. I have larger versions of them if you want better close-ups.
Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks,
Claire

AW says: That’s an early to mid 1900s crystal chandelier. It’s very lovely and elegant. The prisms are most likely Czecheslovakian cut crystal, and the arms are made of glass as well.
One thing you did not indicate is the condition of this item. For the sake of this appraisal, I’ll assume the glass is in excellent condition, with only a few minor chips at the most.
The trick to selling chandeliers like this, is finding a buyer with just the right ceiling space that needs to be filled.
You’ll notice an extra large gap between wholesale and retail prices, the reason for this is that these are not popular with dealers because they are so fragile and difficult to transport. However, when you find a retail customer that wants it, these are somewhat rare, and they should be willing to pay a fair price.
Retail value: $375
Wholesale value: $150
Quick sale: $75
