What's it worth? Appraisal for Victorian Dinning room chairs
Sissy asks: What can you tell me about these “mystery chairs”?

AW says:
Those are Victorian dinning room chairs. The motif on the back is an applied carving and the front feet are hand carved and referred to as “pawfeet”. The needlepoint on the white chairs helps the value somewhat and may or may not have originally adorned them.
These came in several different wood versions and could either be oak or mahogany. There are two arm chairs, and two have hiprests. For a set of chairs to be considered complete as a dining room set, you’d need six of them and the fact that you have only four affects the value.
Circa late 1800s.
