What's it worth? Appraisal for Elvis real photo
Hi Wally,
This photograph is supposed to be an original with only two known copies, this one and another. It’s a large 24” by 12 & 1/8th inches and shows Elvis and company at an unknown airport just coming into the hanger.
I’m not sure but have been told that some of the people in this photo include his father and manager. It’s printed on professional paper and has been kept in a cardboard tube. Thank you for the greatly accurate appraisals you’ve provided in the past, I look forward to this one.
Thanks, Belinda
AW says: Hello Belinda, thanks for your return business. A while back I had the opportunity to market some real Elvis photos and found out that although most have some value, they don’t achieve statospheric prices.
The reason being is simply that he was Elvis, and there are many thousands of real photos that were taken of him. While many of them are in the hands of collectors and may never hit the market, they are not exceptionally rare, which as you may know is a key to value.
That said, anything with/by or depcting Elvis has some value. The range for casual “comeback tour” Elvis photos are:
- Retail value: $175-$200
- Wholesale: $95-$150
- Quick sale: $75
Keywords:
- authentic photograph
- Elvis Presley
- Kodak photograph
- comeback tour
- las vegas
- airport shot
