What's it worth? Appraisal for wheelcut glass lamps

Dear Auction Wally,

Here are photos for the final item:  Cube Etched glass lamps (Set of 2)

Each lamp measures 26.5 inches from the top of the finial to the base and weighs 5.5 pounds.  The base is 5.5 inches wide.
I purchased these at an estate sale @ 10 years ago.  The cord and switch has been replaced on one.  I’m guessing everything else to be original, including the harp?

Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Kindest regards,
Amber

vintage cube glass lampsbase of wheel cut glass lampsfloral design on glass lamps

AW says:These are 1950s “wheelcut” glass lamps. They are wonderful and the floral design on the cubes was cut with a wheel type cutter. It’s nice that you even have the original matching finials and the fact that the pair are in great shape of course, helps to up the value.

Also, the size of these is significant for this type of lamp. There were many US glass makers who made the pieces to this, so it’s near impossible to identify the maker unless you find a mark on them. Fortunately, the value lies in the beauty of the lamps, so a maker’s name is not needed to appraise.

  • Retail value: $225 for pair.
  • Wholesale value: $ $95-$125
  • Quick sale: $45-$65
