What's it worth? Appraisal for child's antique costume coat
Karri asks:
Hello,
I have a child’s uniform jacket dated mid 1800’s. I found this jacket in a family attic, placed in an old tin trunk. Attached are several photos. Its measurements are 28” long, sleeve 17” long, shoulder about 10” wide, hook closure, decorative brass buttons, wool coat, full lining.

AW says: I had to go to friend who specializes in early clothing. She says that what you have is an early costume piece, perhaps for a parade, or play. Although the style is a bit earlier, the coat itself is circa early 1900s.
