What's it worth? Appraisal for bronze sculpture
Mark asks:
We came across this figure at an estate sale.
We believe it is made out of brass because of the green patina.
The total piece, including the marble base, weighs 50 pounds.
The marble base is 22 1/2” x 14”.
Pictures of the item are attached.
Any idea of the value?
Thank you.

AW says: Mark that’s a wonderful sculpture, in the Greco-Roman style. From the cut of the marble base, it appears to be circa early 20th century. We’d determined that you couldn’t find a signature, so the work will stand on it’s own merit, which is quite good.
I disagree slightly with your opinion, in that I think it’s bronze and not brass.
